Story

Ormskirk Bygone Times history group has been established in the town of Ormskirk for approximately eight years now. during this time we have created a web site and Facebook page, along with holding many talks and dipslays within the local community. Ormskirk Bgone Times is a not-for -profit group and all expenses incurred by holding the various events and also buying local artefacts etc are met by the creator of the group, we do not receive any funding from any source. I've always felt it important to preserve & promote Ormskirk's history not only the towns folk of today but for the generations of tomorrow, hence why we have endeavoured spread awareness of our local history for so long, and we fully intend to continue until such a time when our local authority will assist us with the creation of a heritage centre for all to benefit from In the town. The J FATTORINI enamel sign has come up for sale, originally listed for £445 it's obviously a huge task for me to cover that financial obligation. The sign would have hung in the town centre from around 1895-1924 and is quite probably the only example we will ever see from that period. The seller has kindly offered me the sign for £275, this would allow us to bring the sign home and display it with the relevant research at our various displays etc. Being a proud individual I have never asked for help before in regard to our local history and the group I run, however this is a chance that might never happen again, so I hand it over to you. If you like or appreciate what we do within the community and would like to help me return this piece of history to its home, then I would fully appreciate your help. I know it's a big ask, especially at this time of year and with so many other worthy causes asking you for help.

thank you,

Chris
