Story
In the Summer of 2019 I will be travelling to Malawi with other people from my school to help the local community in Blantyre through a well established mission called Fisherman’s Rest (https://www.fishermansrest.net/projects). I will be involved in a variety of projects, such as teaching in primary schools; assisting with schools building programmes; assisting the local communities maintain water bore holes; working with outreach projects building clay ovens; a prison visit and combatting deforestation. Working alongside project teams we will be able to bring about actual, tangible change. I am also excited about the opportunity to experience Malawi, by living and working amongst the local people, actively engaging with their daily life, language and culture.
I need to raise £2,600 to cover the costs of the trip (flights, acommodation and food). I plan on making this money through doing jobs for people in exchange for a donation (on this page) towards my cause. I am able to help with any technological issues (computer and mobile phone problems, etc) and do manual labour (mowing the lawn, cutting hedges or other odd jobs). I will also partake in a few sponsored events to raise the funds necessary.
Please get in touch with me if have jobs I could help you with!
Many thanks for reading.
