Story
Chris Finnes, was the inspiration behind Unlocking Voices - Using RPM, a not-for-profit that was set up by his mum, Sue Finnes, in 2014. Since then, he has been a constant source of encouragement to families from all over the world. His insights helped parents to realise their autistic, non/limited speaking children had 'hidden' language and were capable of so much more than realised.
On 18th February, at Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Chris passed away after sustaining irreversible brain damage from a seizure and fall that had happened three days earlier. His organs were donated; he continued to give until the very end.
Everybody that knows Chris (whether in person, or online) is devastated by the tremendous loss, but we are determined to make sure he continues to have an impact by setting up a charitable foundation in his name. Donations will go to the causes closest to his and his parents' hearts, relating to autism, epilepsy research, organ transplants and improving facilities at the Queen Elizabeth hospital for families that need to be there around the clock. Donations will also help his inspirational story to be shared with the gravitas and care that it deserves.
BY SHARING MY THOUGHTS, I CAN INSPIRE OTHERS - Chris Finnes
We know the target it ambitious, but we have ambitious plans... just like Chris.
