It was just last Saturday when my wonderful stepfather Chris Harvey and his wife Sharon (my mum) were into the third day of their very long awaited and much needed trip to California to see his daughter Keeley (for her 30th Birthday) and grandson and the rest of their family and friends. Unfortunately, before they had actually managed to see any of the family, Chris suffered a Hemorrigic Stroke and was rushed to hospital.

Since then, and after being in a coma for 5 days, he has remained in a critical state whilst the long recovery process begins. All 3 of his daughters and the rest of the family have been tremendous in their support at rallying around Sharon who has not left his side since. Unfortunately there is quite a considerable cost for all this support and thankfully while the insurance will cover the cost of his stay in the hospital, there are many things that they will not cover and other living expenses, not to mention that they are in a foreign country and may well be for a while before he is deemed fit to fly back home to the UK, and Chris will have to stay somewhere out there until that time, with ongoing rehabilitation and care
