I've raised £3250 to The Gorran Haven Harbour Trust (GHHT) and Local Community Groups

Story
As many locally will know, the Gorran Haven Harbour Trust (GHHT) http://gorranhavenharbourtrust.co.uk/ and local Gorran Haven Community groups rely heavily on the summer Gala, Fetes and many other events besides, to raise the funds needed to support their important activities throughout the year. This year, with the impact of Coronavirus / Covid-19, the Galas, Fetes and so many other fundraising events have been cancelled, leaving the local community unable to raise the vital funds they need to keep so many important aspects of community life running.
So I've decided to jump on my bike and ride from Winchester to Gorran Haven (325Km) to raise a few pounds (£) for the Harbour Trust and Local Community.
The ride takes place in a single day on Thurs 9th July, and with the generous £ for £ support (up to £1000) of my employer (Deutsche Bank) I hope to raise £3250; £10 for each Km of the ride.
Why this cause? I care very much about this small Cornish Village, (Gorran Haven) as I’m lucky enough to call it home. I spent my childhood in this magical place, mostly on the water, in and out of boats, and since then, Gorran Haven has never, for one moment, been far from my thoughts. Despite now living in Winchester and working in London, I spend what time I can in the village and am always warmly welcomed – “back home”! To raise some funds to support the Harbour Trust and the local Community would give me a great deal of pride and I know would be hugely appreciated by all in the local community.
Your donations (and those generously matched by “Deutsche Bank” - up to £1000,) will go directly to supporting the work of the Harbour Trust in maintaining the safety and heritage of the Harbour and surrounding beach areas. Donations will also support the wider Gorran Haven Community who work so hard the year round in so many different ways. I’m aiming to raise £10 for each kilometre of the ride (325km in total) but really, any contribution will be most gratefully received and hugely welcomed by the entire village community.
'Our harbour is the focal point of our village community for both local residents and visitors alike. The Trust is the custodian of the harbour ensuring that it is safe and available to use by everyone. The vital maintenance is largely supported by donations from various charitable events. While it's unlikely that these can be held in the same way this year, we warmly welcome Chris's creative and generous initiative. We all look forward to welcoming Chris to the harbour at the end of his exciting venture'
