£300raised of £1,000 target by 16 supporters

Weʼve raised £300 to pay for an operation to save Loxley's leg. Without a much needed reconstruction on his foot Loxley could lose his leg. Please help.

    What is crowdfunding?

Crowdfunding is a new type of fundraising where you can raise funds for your own personal cause, even if you're not a registered nonprofit.

The page owner is responsible for the distribution of funds raised.

Loxley is a beautiful Sphynx cat who was sold to his previous owner as a kitten. He was born with a deformed foot. The breeder said this was not a problem - it would right itself and an insurance policy would pay. She failed to realise that this condition would be classed as pre-existing and an insurance company would not pay.

Loxley is now 2 years old and has now been signed over to our care. His owner could no longer afford to look after him or arrange for his treatment. She considered euthanasia as she could see no other option. We stepped in to save this furbabies life.

Sadly his condition requires an operation or two to perform a reconstruction. The nature of the operation is very complex as the pad is split in two parts to the wrist. The vet has recommended this course of action rather than go straight to the option of leg amputation.

We need to raise the money to get this operation done quickly. The initial estimate is £639.68 but this will increase with further work but by how much we don’t yet know. We desperately need to raise the money to make this special little cat’s life a painfree one and save his leg.

He has two toes that curl under his foot. The nails on these toes are causing him considerable pain as they dig into his pad. It is impossible to clip them. The vet has decided that it would be best to remove these toes to relieve the painful pressure in his foot and then he may put his weight on it and make use of his leg.

He has not had the best start in life but with your help we can change his life for the better. Please help us change Loxley’s life. No amount is too small as it all helps and we would be grateful for any amount you give.

We help lots of other animals too. We do this with very little funds mostly using our own money and what donations we receive for which we are very grateful. Every gift helps no matter how small and is put to good use.

2 weeks ago our vet agreed that Loxley needed an operation immediately and we put his bill on account. He had his operation to remove the two toes that were causing the most pain. He is doing really well and we hope he won't have to have his leg removed - time will tell. We still have not raised enough money to pay the bill and are hoping that more will donations will come in. In the meantime I have added the portion of the bill below to show what the costs are so far.
