St Joseph's Catholic Church, Tatton Street, Stockport was designated as the new Eucharistic Shrine for the diocese of Shrewsbury in 2022. However the building is in much need of repair and restoration.
This Church holds a special place in my heart, and its ongoing restoration is a cause I really care about. I have been proud to serve on the fundraising committee for a number of years but now the time has come for me to make a more personal effort. Hence, I am putting on my trainers and running the Manchester 10K on 31st May 2026.
This beautiful shrine deserves to be fully restored and preserved for generations to come, and every single pound raised brings us closer to that goal. The roof is almost completed now and the focus will then be on the interior which, as you can see from the photo requires a significant amount of work.
If you can spare anything at all, please know that your generosity will make a real and lasting difference . The Shrine is open every day for Mass and Perpetual Adoration and serves not only the local Stockport and Greater Manchester Community but welcomes visitors and pilgrims from near and far.
