I've raised £500 to The Disabled Children’s Short Breaks & Outreach Service in Tilbury and Thurrock young carers. The money will be split equally between them.

I am running the brighton marathon on the 14th april 2019. I decided to use this race (my first marathon) to try and help 2 local organisations that are close to my heart.
Firstly a little bit of information on both organisations
- The Disabled Children’s Short Breaks & Outreach Service, delivering a range of short break services through Sunshine Centre, Hannah’s Place & Befriending. is for children aged up to 18 years with a whole range of needs both behavioural and physical. The centre includes a fully equipped sensory room and is for parents and siblings, as well as the child with a disability or special educational need.
At the centre we aim to provide an environment where individual needs are recognised and supported. We will ensure that all the activities provided give each child the opportunity to enjoy as wide a range of experiences as possible, acknowledging that one small step for one may be a giant leap for another.
We seek to value each and every child and young person as an individual and look for ways to recognise their gifts and talents in a ways that see the person rather than the disability
-Young Carers are young people who live in a family where someone is affected by a long term illness, disability, mental health issue, alcohol or substance misuse or HIV. The Young Carers Service supports Young Carers aged 8-18 years.
Services we provide:
Home Visit
One-to-One Support
Respite Activities
Oppurtunity to meet new friends
Training / Workshops
