Story
On Friday 23rd June, Christel Warn will start her 3 day London-Paris cycling challenge (406km) to raise money for Breastfeeding sessions and domestic violence support.
In the UK, more than 73% of mothers start breastfeeding. The take up of breast-feeding is very low in our area and the support for this is inadequate due to local authority and health service funding reductions. Similarly, the early help counselling services for people suffering Domestic Violence are woefully short given the rising incidence.
We actively promote and support breasfeeding and we would like to offer workshops to local vulnerable pregnant mums to support them to get breasfeeding off to a good start, increase their knowledge & confidence and provide support & expertise to overcome breastfeeding challenges if encountered. We also would like to offer a monthly breastfeeding support group where mums can share their experience particularly those suffering domestic violence.
A 2 hour workshop delivered by experts costs £30 per participant and we need to raise funds.
Please help us to help people who might otherwise fall through the net to the detriment of themselves and their children (who are often the unseen victims with lifelong consequences) by sponsoring Christel. Every little helps
Thank you in advance for your support.
