As most of you know on October 21st we are taking on the challenge of a full distance IRONMAN - a gruelling 3.8k swim, 180k cycle, finished off with a 42.2k run! Despite having completed the half distance last year, neither of us have ever even run a marathon nor completed any of the individual distances for the other two legs. When we started training in April, Christian was unable to run at all because of his knee injury (violin!), so we’ve come a long way!

We have dedicated many hours to training so far and have less than 2 months to go (gulp). With our training journey being mostly solitary, we’ve created this page to seek your invaluable support and simultaneously raise funds for a deserving and worthy cause.

Being based in the Algarve, we’ve decided to support a local children’s charity - Associação de Solidariedade com as Crianças Carenciadas do Algarve (ACCA). Roughly translating to: ‘Association in Solidarity with Children in Need of the Algarve’.

ACCA’s mission is to support children of the Algarve who are handicapped, abused, orphaned or abandoned and the institutions who look after children whose families simply can’t. They deliver life-saving, life-changing therapies & medical aid.

Through fund-raising and hard work from their dedicated volunteers, they are able to make a real difference and put smiles back on children’s faces.
