I've raised £10000 to help fund the Christian Hobbs Memorial gym at The Heart of England Community Boxing Club

Between the 12th and 19th August, this summer, George Figgis, Jim Holt and I will be cycling just under 300 miles from Budle (Bamburgh) to Roshven (Near Fort William). This cycle ride is in remembrance of Christian Hobbs. Christian passed away suddenly just over a year ago at the age of 17 from heart failure. His death was completely unexpected and devastating for all who knew him. He was the best friend we and many others could have asked for and holds a very special place in our hearts: kind, funny and driven, he had a fantastically bright future ahead of him. The route of the cycle ride will take us through the places in which we hold our dearest memories of him, most importantly Roshven, where all our four families spent 7 happy, happy summers. This is a picture of us enjoying what was to be our last year together at Roshven.
Christian's passion in life was boxing. For the last 4 years, he trained at the Heart of England Boxing Club in Hinckley, Leicestershire. The club is run by Nick Griffin and offers proper facilities and serious training to those who might not otherwise have access to them. Unfortunately, earlier this year the Club's landlords decided to redevelop the premises and it had to move out. A temporary home has been found for now but the Club aims to build the best boxing gym in the country with support from far and wide. Christian’s parents are determined that some good will come from their terrible loss and so they have devoted themselves to raising funds for the new Club: this club would be named the ‘The Christian Hobbs Memorial Gym, home of the Heart of England Community Boxing Club’
Please help us three raise money for the gym. We loved Christian to bits and this gym would mean the world to him and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him.
