I have visited Lourdes a couple of times with this group. Mary is an excellent organiser and has a little shop where she sells items to raise money to take people who are sick to Lourdes.
As they are sick, the idea is that they should not have to worry about funding the trip too.
I thought I would help out by fundraising and have stated an initial goal of £5000

I hope people think this is a good cause and contribute. Generally there are around 50 people go which is a combination of paying pilgrims, people who are sick and nurses and carers to support people with their needs during their stay.

We stay in Lourdes for a week, flying from Glasgow on the cheapest flight we can get and land and have a 3 hour coach drive as it is cheaper than flying direct to Lourdes.

We stay in a hotel not far from the domain, which makes it easy to participate in the events scheduled such as mass, torch-lit procession, bathing in the water.

People enjoy this and it helps them relax and is a spiritual experience which impacts on peoples physical and mental health needs.
