Anyone who knows me will know that I am not a natural runner. 8 months ago, I set myself what seemed like an impossible challenge of running the Athens Marathon 2016. Having been born and raised in Athens, this seemed the perfect place to take part in my first ever marathon.

I have spent the past eight months training harder and harder each week to be able to complete this challenge. The marathon is now just around the corner, November 13th 2016.

I have set up this fund raising page to try and raise some much needed funds for a wonderful young girl named Kelly Turner. Most people from Dover will have heard of Kelly's brave story and how the local area has come together to try and raise money to help her. In 2016, Kelly was a fit and well 15 year old, happy and fulfilling life. However, in October 2015, she was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer, of which only 20 adolescents each year are diagnosed as having. Kelly has already received 9 rounds of chemotherapy which has responded well, however as the cancer is so close to her liver, the doctors in the UK are not prepared to carry out surgery.

Kelly's family have sought help for Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York, and they have agreed to do the surgery, immunotherapy and radiotherapy. As for the cost, this is estimated to be$1,200,000..

I was so moved by this, and felt that my marathon challenge was a great opportunity to try and help Kelly. I would be extremely grateful for any contribution towards Kelly's cause.

This is the second page I have set up, as the first one had expired. Also, thank you to all those who have sponsored me with cash, and I will add this to the total money raised.
