Sanata Marta is a favela in the affluent south zone of Rio. Every year in January volunteers run a holiday camp for children during the Brazilian summer break. I and colleagues from Oxford visited Santa Marta in the summer and witnessed first hand the on-going work volunteers are doing with young people who are vulnerable to poverty and the drugs trade. This year is their 40th Anniversary Summer Camp help make it a memorable one.
