I've raised £300 to Celebrate the joy of being able to walk - and to support the Hypermobility Syndromes Association.

The plan: On Good Friday April 19th walk around Fleet Pond - and if I feel ok, walk around it again! Come and join me, your company would be welcomed :)
I have a genetic condition, Ehlers-Danlos syndrome, which brings a pick'n'mix of health issues. Mainly for me, I injure easily and heal very slowly and not completely. I had a few years of wheel-chair dependence from 2013 and was told by my Rheumatologist that he did not expect I would ever go for a walk again, but happily I have continued to heal at my own pace. 6 years later I can now thoroughly enjoy a short walk, so long as I have rested beforehand. I want to celebrate this blessing by doing a walk to raise money for Hypermobility Syndromes Association, an organisation which has helped me by showing me that I am far from being isolated with my health difficulties, I am part of a community with tips to share. "The HMSA is the only charity offering both practical support and Information Standards Accredited health and care information to people who have a hypermobility syndrome" and their carers.
