I'm raising £1000 to Alan Bradbury Memorial Fund

Organised by Christine peers
Children and youth

Story

We are raising money for a Memorial Garden to commemorate the legacy that Alan Bradbury MBE our club founder built and has left to the community after his passing last year.

By having this memorial at the club we would be giving something back to Alan by keeping his memory alive for everything he has given to the children and the local communityand beyond.

Alan gave over 60 years of voluntary service. HE established Droylsden Youth Centre in 1963 and developed it over the years to the point where we now have over 500 players, 100 coaches and 55 football teams. He helped the club win the Queen's Award for voluntary service in 2016 and was awarded a MBE for his charity and youth work.

The club itself goes back 3 generations, where we have produced some players that have gone on to play professionally.

The club started in a prefab and Alan as well as other volunteers in the club. worked tirelessly to raise money and secure funding to build a new clubhouse and 3G pitch, that were completed in 2013.

We are now raising funds to honour Alan and keep his legacy alive with a Memorial garden and statue at the club.

Before his passing Alan was working on a new project to expand the club and build a new full sized 3G pitch. His hard work will hopefully come to fruition in 2026 meaning he will touch more young lives even after his death which is a fitting tribute to an amazing man.

Hopefully you will be able to help us with this goal by providing us with a sponsorship.
