In our rural village we're trying to make the church more user-friendly. We'd like to be able to offer much-needed refreshments and loo facilities when people have travelled from afar to christenings, weddings and funerals.

In addition the village has no village hall, so we'd like the building to be available for community groups all year round. It's a massive financial undertaking, but we have full permission, the architect's drawings are in place, and we're almost halfway to the £120,000 we need.

So I'm celebrating my 70th birthday by going wing-walking in an effort to boost the funds - I'm calling it my 'On a Wing and a Prayer' project, and I'd be really grateful for any support. Thank you so much.
