I've raised £2000 to help Christine buy a Citroen Berlingo van so she can put her surf boards in it and all her stuff like yoga mats for classes & sleep in back

Story

Everyone who knows me knows I do about 1000 things and live a bit of a hectic life, running around like an idiot usually killing myself teaching fitness classes or doing photography work, and life modelling and running an art group once a month and working in a bar and outside of all that trying to have a life which involves things like surfing.

I didn't even have a car until a few years ago, I used to walk to work and back every single day then things changed, I lost my job and despite trying very hard to get another job it didn't happen and so I ended up doing more fitness classes and getting serious about wedding photography work (partly because I had no other choice really but I did enjoy this work a lot as well). Anyway, as you can imagine it's not possible to do those things without a vehicle, at first my dad used to drive me a wedding and then come and pick me up bless him but I couldn't keep doing that and eventually when I started working with another photographer who lived in the Dales and we got weddings out there I had to get a car.

This basically eats up all of my cash pretty much, because I've never had to fund fuel before and didn't realise how much insurance and tax and maintenance costs add to that the fact that I'm earning less than I've ever earned but possibly working harder than ever (hmmmm) well it's tricky to survive on your own but I'm doing it, somehow.

Thing is though my current car is starting to play up had a few repairs recently and for a few years now I've really fancied a little run-around van type thing so I can stick all the stuff in it I need for work and life especially would be far more practical for surf boards instead of having to put them on the roof every time I want to go to the beach and then when it rains, and it does a lot, we live in England, the rain pours in on me and my car and all it's content. I was once driving down the A174 and could barely see for the rain pouring in on me. I'm also in the middle of my yoga teacher training and when I start teaching I'm going to need space for mats and things to take to classes if I set up on my own, as well as all the gym gear I lug about daily to classes, my camera gear and stuff for camping and because I live in a tiny flat there's some stuff that has to be kept in the car like all the stuff for the life drawing group I run that's all in there...... argghhhhh! Someone said recently as I was sat at the back of my car crocheting in Saltburn car park 'look at that woman she looks like she lives in her car' - turns out this was someone I actually know but she hadn't recognised me, Joanne Marwood ;-) haha! Very funny though, so yeh basically I live in my car and well a little van would just be soooooo much better.

Anyway, last night I had a dream that for my birthday next week all my friends on facebook donated like £2 each as a surprise for my birthday and set up a fund and I was looking at this beautiful little blue van (Citroen Berlingo I think it was) to buy, obviously there were also some very random weird goings on too in the dream but won't mention those :-). So I posted about this this morning on facebook, and someone suggested I set up a page on here and do a fund raising campaign. I mean it seems absolutely bonkers like but what have I got to lose right? What's that saying if you don't ask you don't get?

It might turn out that it's not a Berlingo that I get but something similar, depending on what's available and good value etc, ideally a Berlingo though :-)

Of course I won't be offended if this is a flop, I don't expect it to work but you never know hey, sometimes life has a funny way of giving you things :-)

& for anyone who does donate if you're local enough to attend when I get started you can come to a yoga class for FREE as a thank you :-)

So here we go.........
