Over the past months, hundreds of refugee young people have arrived in Kent, on their way to a better, more peaceful life. They have very little in the way of personal effects, and the charities who care for them have limited funding to buy them things.
As we mark the festive season, a few of us from the churches here in Canterbury decided we'd like to give each of these young people a small gift, to say 'Welcome to the UK, and Happy Christmas'. The charities who work with these young people tell us that one of the most useful and enjoyable gifts would be a set of earphones, so that they can listen to music on the computers at the drop-in centres which they visit. So that's what we're going to give them.
We have sourced some good-quality earphones at £8.00 per pair, and we would be delighted if you would consider donating for one or more pairs.
