Story
Hi, I'm Tess, and for the second year running, I'm organizing a Christmas initiative to support London's homeless community. Last year, I personally funded and distributed 25 care packages across London. This year, with your help, I'm hoping to reach even more people during the festive season.
While many of us are celebrating with loved ones in warm homes, thousands of people in London will be spending Christmas on the streets. The winter months are particularly challenging people living on the streets, and the contrast between holiday celebrations and their daily struggles can be especially difficult. This is a small way to share some Christmas kindness and show that someone cares.
Each carefully assembled package contains:
Warm gloves to protect against London's winter chill
New, thick socks
Personal hygiene items: toothbrush, toothpaste, baby wipes
Sanitary products (one of the most requested items)
Emergency thermal blanket
Soup packets
£5 Greggs gift card for a hot meal and drink
Building on last year's effort of 25 packages, we're aiming to create as many care packages as possible based on donations received. Each package costs approximately £20 to assemble. Every additional £20 means one more person receives essential care items and a touch of Christmas kindness.
I will personally distribute these packages throughout London, focusing on areas where help is most needed. Having done this last year, I know which areas to target and how to approach people respectfully and safely.
Last Christmas, I self-funded and distributed 25 packages across London. The gratitude and conversations I shared with recipients were profound and moving. Many simply appreciated that someone had stopped to acknowledge them during the festive season.
100% of donations will go directly to purchasing items for the care packages. Thank you!
