My name is Alicia and i have set this justgiving page to help contrubute into the making of our homeless survial kits that we are making this Christmas.

My self my son who is 7 years old and my family are making survial kits for the homeless in are area this christmas. As we sit at home with our loved ones surrounded by the sound of laughing and the christmas music we cheerly sing along to there are people less furtunate to us. These are the people we want to be able to help spread some joy to. Homelessness is devastating, dangerous and isolating. On average, homeless people die at just 47 years old. People sleeping on the street are almost 17 times more likely to have been victims of violence.Homeless people are over nine times more likely to take their own life than the general population

You may ask why? How? You may say its their fault! People become homeless for lots of different reasons. There are social causes of homelessness, such as a lack of affordable housing, poverty and unemployment; and life events which cause individuals to become homeless People can become homeless when they leave prison, care or the army with no home to go to.

Many homeless women have escaped a violent relationship. Many people become homeless because they can no longer afford the rent And for many, life events like a relationship breaking down, losing a job, mental or physical health problems, or substance misuse can be the trigger. Being homeless can in turn make many of these problems even harder to resolve

To show someone you care any day of the week is an amazing thing but at a special time like christmas we want to go the extra mile. We will be putting 100% of everything raised towards to kits which we are hoping will be able to help someone in need. In these kits we will be sourcing toothbrushes, soaps, food , socks , hats and cutlery. Things we all take for granted and dont think twice about. The hats i will be sourcing will be all the same colour so keep your eye out while walking around you may meet someone you have helped. will let you all know the colour that is chosen.

we have no idea what will come of this and if we will end up raising anything through this but if you can donate the smallest amout then you will be helping someone this christmas.
