I've raised £1500 to Fund raising for the Angels of Hope Charity Mumias Kenya

Christmas Came Early in Mumias?
Well Christmas came and went in Mumias, Unfortunately I started this campaign a little too late.
Oscar did go ahead, although on a much smaller scale, yes some of the Orphans couldn't be invited, but for those that did attend , a good time was had by all.
Since marks trip to Kenya in March 2017 , we have endeavoured to keep the connections between the Angels of Hope Charity, which Oscar and his supporters oversee, and the general everyday activities and plans, which are being built every day.
Much of this revolves around Oscars outreach Jiggers treatments, which all too often, bring to light other difficulties and hardships being suffered by these families in more remote areas.
This often results in other emergency work being taken on, such as re building a home, sinking a new Latrine, providing essentials like blankets and mattresses.
All of this has a cost of course. I've decided , in light of all of these facts, that i will run this campaign as ongoing , let it run for 3 months at a time, when funds will be available to assist Oscar in the work he is providing.
My hope is to be able to raise enough, throughout the year, to not only help with the provision of the urgent items, Oscar needs to continue with the jiggers outreach, but to also raise enough to provide the orphans and their carers, to celebrate a Christmas comes early 2018 Party for everyone!
There are other projects in Mumias too, one in which it is intended to grow vegetables for sale to the local community, all proceeds will be ploughed (excuse the pun) back into the good works being carried out there. When Mark visited last year both Oscar and He set up a Bank account as a business, so that this can be grown efficiently.
So yes we have huge plans for Oscar and his dedicated team, and wholeheartedly want to travel on the journey with him, albeit remotely, for much of the time.
Collectively we have many dreams, not least the eradication of the Jiggers flea!! which is minute and lives in the soil, and is picked up on the bare feet of those simply walking over it.
Shoes for all would be a brilliant start, Improved housing, where other easily obtained materials can be used, instead of mud as bricks.
There's much we have to learn too, Oscar is leading the way here in showing and teaching us all he knows.
Yes we do have a long way to go, I'm pretty sure that collectively, we will get there.
I will make it my aim to keep you informed as we reach each milestone..

Oscar has created a Christmas party for these orphans and their carers / supporters every year for some time, it has taken a diligence which is quite frankly, breathtaking.
December 2016 was our first year, getting involved and rolling up our virtual sleeves, it was an absolute Success, with over 60 orphaned children, and 30 carers, able to take part, and have a little of that special magic, that only Christmas brings.
While we have grand plans to bring the whole thing to life even further, to possibly have a live link to them perhaps on their party day, shared with a school here, bringing everyone together, shrinking away the miles, albeit for a short while..
