I'm raising £1000 to Help support a counselling initiative in Barnsley that provides affordable and accessible mental health support

Story

I am running the Manchester Marathon to raise funds for RDCS, a cause I believe in that will make the difference to many people's lives in Barnsley.

For many people, mental health support can still be difficult to access due to long waiting lists and the cost of private therapy.

Chris Sanders understands this challenge first-hand. After leaving the army, he experienced homelessness, addiction and PTSD before rebuilding his life through education and counselling. Today, he is committed to helping others find the same support and hope that changed his life.

With Rosanna Duggan, they have launched Reflective Development Counselling Space (RDCS), a service designed to help people who feel stuck between NHS services and private providers. Their goal is simple: make counselling more accessible for people in Barnsley who might otherwise go without it.

The money raised will help support this initiative so that more people can access counselling and receive support when they need it most.

Every donation will help make a difference — whether it's helping someone attend their first counselling session, supporting the running of the service or enabling more people to access affordable mental health support.

Thank you!
