Chris Foxley is an Ex-Firefighter/Crew Manager who worked for Staffordshire Fire & Rescue Service and has seen how important the Fire Fighters Charity is to injured and mentally scared Firefighters when they need help and or rehabilitation. Also the extremely valuable lifesaving work that the Midlands Air Ambulance service do, especially when assisting at scenes of Road Traffic collisions. Chris left the Fire service 18 months ago at 65 years of age and since then has joined the Sweat Bank Gym at Lancaster Park, Burton on Trent to improve and maintain his fitness level. And as such has set himself this challenge, to complete 100,000 metres (62.1 miles) over a 10-day period completing 10,000 metres per day at level 10 on the rowing machine with the aim of completing each session at sub 50 mins. It is a challenge says Chris at a young 67 years of age, and do I feel out of my comfort zone? Hell yes!
