Poverty- Coming from a poverty stricken village in a third world country, the issue has pretty much been at the forefront of daily life. I further witnessed the depth of this problem when I moved to the city and encountered the hopelessness and joblessness among the youth. I knew that I needed to do something but did not know how. The weapon available to me was football. Having a background as a professional player, my ambition was cut short through a career ending injury. I was lucky to have an education as a fallback, something most young people lack in this country. I decided to embark on this task starting from my home village where I first had the burden to do something. Through our initiative, many young school dropouts have returned to school and some have gotten football scholarships abroad. The power of education and opportunities to play professionally is immense in eradicating poverty and dependency in the community. We exist to keep the poor kids' dreams and hopes alive. We rely on your support to make this a reality. www.thedreamsalivefdn.org
