Story

I’m running (jogging) the English Half Marathon on 15th September to raise money for The Toy House. I’ve never done anything like this before so I’m bricking it. However, i have been training as much as possible and am determined to ‘run’ the whole 21km while raising money for a great cause.,

The Toy House is an Urmston-based charity which I am actively involved in. It is a fantastic charity and the work done by the workers and volunteers is incredible in that it provides essential support to the local community. As well as being a specialist resource-lending library with lift-accessed sensory room, The Toy House supports various groups including 0-4's; running a "volunteering for success" program for people with disabilities and groups for older and isolated people. Due to Government cuts the charity is now only partially funded through grants and has to raise funds from its own sources to continue and remain sustainable.
