Story

My name is Ciara and I am in my second year at the University of Brighton, studying Physical Education. At the end of first year, I was fortunate enough to be selected to join the Football/Rugby for Peace team. This is an organisation run by the University of Brighton that teaches that helps to unite people in areas of cultural or political conflict through teaching key values within sport to children worldwide.

In December of this year, myself and other members of the F4P/R4P team are hoping to travel to The Gambia. We will be delivering our knowledge, as Tier 2 community coaches, to provide children with opportunities they may have never been given before in order to teach the understanding of inclusion, social contact and peaceful coexistence through sport. F4P/R4P focuses on teaching the key values of sport, such as trust, inclusion, equality and respect, as well as strengthening relationships within communities and enhancing basic life skills and sport skills. Our aim is for our knowledge, skills and coaching to impact on young children so they can understand the importance of these values so they are able to transfer them throughout their life after we leave.

I hope to raise as much money as possible to financially support this amazing opportunity and experience that I am fortunate to be a part of and therefore any donations will be very much appreciated!!
