Tijan has had a lifelong interest in Martail Arts and has been teaching children and young people for many years. He gives his time freely to those who cannot afford to pay. The Martial Arts lesson give the children a sense of belonging, pride and self confidence. Tijan is a modest man and a devout Muslim he is respected in his community and is a good role model. Tijan has recently married and has a young baby.

I have been studying and teaching Tai Chi for 12 years with Golden Flower Tai Chi Association and so when I met Tijan I immediately recognised him as a fellow martial artist. During my visits to Gambia we share our knowledge I teach him Tai Chi and he teaches me Kung Fu. He invited me to visit some of his classes and I have sponsored some of the young girls and provided equipment and materials donated by my Tai Chi friends in the Golden Flower School. I have been very fortunate in my life to study with Master of the Golden Flower School, Master San Gee Tam. My dream is to share this opportunity with Tijan when Master San Gee Tam comes to the UK in October. Eventually our hope is that we will have a Golden Flower Tai Chi Instructor in The Gambia.
