Myself and Kirsty are student paediatric nurses studying at Kings College London University; as part of our second year curriculum we undertook an international elective placement to Cambodia. We chose to volunteer at the Children’s Improvement Organisation (CIO) in Siem Reap, an incredible orphanage that homes 40 beautiful children aged from 18months to 19years. The couple that run the orphanage, Sitha and Sreymom, aim to raise the children to be self-sustaining to prepare them for their futures after the orphanage.

The orphanage received ten computers on donation whilst we were volunteering there, but they have no desks to place them on. We hope to raise enough money to have ten desks made by a carpenter in the local village which will enable the children to use the computers.

Anything you can donate, whether it be big or small, really will go towards making such a difference in these children’s life. Thank you for taking the time to read our statement.
