Story

The Highways England A45 Chowns Mill Improvement scheme report ‘Understanding our communities’ highlights pockets of high deprivation across Wellingborough and Northamptonshire, many of our young people believe opportunities outside of a life of negative gang culture or crime are not open to them.

Northamptonshire Police are leading on a national ground-breaking initiative called CIRV (Community Initiative Against Violence) and MY BK YD, whereby they partner with businesses to explore opportunities for suitably engaged young people:

• Offering a flavour of Business creating a learning opportunity.

• Offering volunteering, placements, work trials, apprenticeships and jobs

• Sponsoring other programme Initiatives, such as Survival courses

We're raising funds to help cohorts of young people to participate in CIRV activities and in particular outdoor survival training scheme
