My dad was diagnosed with uretra cancer in may after being hospitalised with sepsis . In june we were told it was terminal my dad passed in august after a tough fight my parents were both disabled and on dla my sad was the claimant for my mum shes now been put on universal credit and hasnt had a paymebt since august . Her monthly paymevt will be £317 and she will need to go to work capability meetings to get her sick money back . There was no savings to pay towards funeral so mum applied for a funeral grant they are onky paying the cremation fee leabing my mum £1200 to pay herself . Thers no way she can do this off 317 a month . The uc system has let her down . She is a fraction of the woman she used to be and i fear for mental well being shes close to a breakdown . Any little bit of help would be amazing we gave my dad the best send off for little money nothing like what he deserved . the universal credit system is putting peoples lives in jeopardy and i fear my mum will become one of those statistics if i could get her some help with the funeral payment i feel this will help relieve the stress for her and let her grieve her husand
