Many of you will know Claire Johnson and for those of you who do know this larger than life character you will understand why this is hard to write and if you don’t know her please hear me out anyway.

Due to the COVID -19 pandemic Claire has spent the majority of the last year shielding and was unable to carry out the clinical aspects of the job she loves as a Senior NHS Nurse however continued to support the hospital from home in all ways she could.

Claire was very much looking forward to coming back to work when safe to do so after the pandemic, however the hopes she had were not meant to be. Claire has recently been diagnosed with advanced terminal cancer. As you can imagine this news has been devastating to Claire, her partner and her children. This is not something they ever expected and most definitely do not deserve.

The one thing Claire has said she is determined to do is marry her partner Michael and as her colleagues and friends we would love to be able to make this a reality for her. We are asking for donations no matter how small to make her wish come true and enable Claire and Michael to become husband and wife!

A few words from Claire's partner Michael

Claire is the least self-servant person I have ever had the privilege to meet. Even after a terminal cancer diagnosis for herself, her first thoughts were ‘well, how are you going to cope?’.

Claire has struggled all of her life with bad experiences that have been thrown at her. Believe me when I say this. She has come through it all.

She is a beautiful human soul. I would take the cancer on myself if I could. It’s not fair that the morally superior people turn out to be somatically inferior. I love you my beautiful Claire, at least until the heat death of the universe xxxx

Any donations, no matter how small will be massively appreciated and 100% go towards granting her wish. If we can raise more money than needed then this will be used to help provide for Claire's family in the future.
