We are asking for your help in raising funds to get our son Calum a Tiny Trax Mobility Chair. We have been advised this will cost us just short of £6000.

Calum was born 14 weeks premature and from day one he has amazed us with his strength to overcome every hurdle thrown at him.

Calum sustained severe brain damage to the motor section of his brain due to complications of being born so early.

Without overloading you with medical terms I wanted to keep it as simple as possible to explain what's going on.

Calum has a blocked ventricular otherwise known as hydrocephalus. This means his head is unable to drain fluid naturally resulting in severe swelling.

Due to this, his first year resulted in repeated admissions to intensive care and high dependency wards. He also had to have life saving operations to install a shunt into his brain to reduce the swelling. He will require this for life.

As a result of this condition he has also been diagnosed with sight impairment and Cerebral Palsy.

Over the last couple of years it has become more evident that Calum isn't reaching his milestones and he has very limited mobility. Most obvious to us is that he is not able to use the right side of his body to its full extent.

Calum was provided with a self propelled chair from the NHS but due to his restricted movement he ultimately just kept going round in circles!

Calum is the most fun loving, happy little boy who just wants to play with his siblings and friends but is restricted due to his conditions and we truly believe that by getting him the Tiny Trax Chair (he's already took it for a test run) we could be giving him the independence he truly deserves!

The Tiny Trax Chair is £5995 and will last him until he's 8-10 years old depending on his weight.
