Story
Hi,I am doing the Goodison Zip Wire on 30th March to help raise funds for two great causes that are important to me which are Everton in the Community 'Peoples Place' to help build a purpose built mental health centre and Autism Adventures UK CIC who provide social and leisure activities for children in Liverpool who are on the Autistic Spectrum, they also provide awareness sessions to companies and workplaces to help the understanding of Autism so that they can be more Autism friendly for their customers, colleagues and loved ones.
Everyone has mental health in the same way that everyone has physical health but mental health illnesses, unlike broken bones are invisible to everyone but those experiencing them, but their reality is no different and no less painful.
Mental health has been apart of all our lives, either directly or knowing someone who has suffered mental health. Everton in the community has been delivering award winning life-changing and life-saving mental health across Merseyside for more than 5,000 individuals with bespoke programmes for those in need.
They are currently trying to raise funds to build a purpose built mental health centre, a permanent mental health facility called ‘The People’s Place’ including to help promote positive mental health and provide support related to suicide awareness and prevention.
My second organisation Im raising funds for is very close to my heart, Autism Adventures UK who run social and leisure activities for children and young people who are on the Autistic spectrum.
Summer holidays, Christmas break, Easter holidays, half term break and any other events that happen throughout the year are an enjoyable, exciting time for children and families but for children and families who have loved ones on the Autism spectrum it can be a very isolating and stressful time due to sensory and social difficulties they may have that members of the public sometimes don’t understand, a busy playground, restaurant or soft play area although lots of fun, can be a very daunting for a child/young person who has Autism, that is why Autism Adventures UK was created to arrange activities and events specifically for children and families who have autism, where it is not so isolating and everyone understands eachothers needs, families can enjoy a day out, sports session, event, without the added stress of what families would experience if in an environment that was not Autism friendly.
Thank you for taking the time to read this and I hope by me raising funds it will help your loved ones, neighbours, colleagues, family and friends who may benefit any of the facilities mentioned.
