In February we received the devastating news that our dear friend and colleague Heidrun Thawe had been diagnosed with a brain tumour. She was a young, vibrant team leader, working fulltime in Waltham Forest to lead and support her team, juggling her work and home life, and devoted to her family and lovely young sons, Chisomo and Elias.

Sadly, just 9 months since this unexpected diagnosis, and despite all her positivity, faith, determination and the love and devotion of her family and friends, on 1 November Heidrun lost her fight with this aggressive brain cancer.

Her loss is felt by all of us who were privileged to have known and worked alongside her. Whilst we can never take away the pain that her sons will feel having lost their beautiful mum, as a team we would like to raise some funds in memory of Heidrun, that can be spent however their father Edward feels would benefit them at this very difficult time.
