H.O.P.E - Hold On Pain Ends
We need your generocity to provide support for young people & their families currently suffering. The new HOPE Charity Project is helping to bridge the gap between the NHS and other support organisations for children in mental health crisis.
The current mental health system is failing to adequately help and support young people and their families that are in desperate need of somewhere to turn. Due to NHS (CAMHS)being in crisis with waiting lists of 14mths just to get an assessment, if you are lucky enough to qualify.
Being rejected or put on a very long waiting list is very damaging when a child is reaching out for help. Causing young people to deteriorate into serious depressive states, self harming and sadly a massive rise in suicide attempts due to not being able to cope anymore. Early intervention and help from the system is just not available when it's needed and even then, it's very limited.
The Hope Charity Project has been set up to help families in Sussex who are struggling to support their children suffering with emotional health issues. We offer a very empathetic, back to basics approach, care and trust to providing advice, support and comfort to the children, parents and siblings who are all effected by this growing problem and need intervention and help now.
Not only do we provide a reassuring environment for the young person in crisis, we also understand the importance of support for all the family affected, and have designed our services for all. From an array of professionally led therapy (animal, art, drama) community groups, 1-1’s, classes, visits and talks, the HOPE sanctuary is a place of peace & calm to be heard & supported.
Our aim is not only to unite our own local community, but to bring together other groups in communities throughout the UK, building our network of families helping each other at these times when there is nowhere else to turn.
All the people involved in the Hope Charity Project have been touched by this terrifying and emotionally challenging issue. Having gone through extensive experiences and being on the receiving end of a currently failing system in crisis, we have taken it upon ourselves to fill a massive gap for children between the ages of 10-18 and their families who are suffering unnecessarily.
Having gone through so many of the challenges ourselves, which affected all our families, carers and schools, we have a unique level of empathy and experience that could make the biggest difference in a time where everything seems bleak. Help Us help these families.
