Give a child a Christmas
As many of you are aware throughout November we raise money each year to help under privileged children within our area get a Christmas they truly deserve. This all started ten years ago as we sat watching our own children on Christmas morning opening their presents and seeing the looks on their faces and how happy they were. We couldn’t imagine how a child must feel to wake up on Christmas morning to nothing. Or how it would feel as a parent not to be able to give your child the Christmas they deserve through not fault of their own. It continued to play on our minds throughout the days and weeks ahead so we decided as a family to try and help.
We started off by buying toys and gifts ourselves and then my husband started participating in growing a moustache for Movember. Friends and family would sponsor him in the process which allowed us to buy more and more toys. We started this as a family thinking maybe we could help one or two children, but as the years have gone by its grew and grew with more and more lovely people donating each year allowing more children to be helped. All the items bought are then taken to our local salvation army who then allocate the toys accordingly. Our own children love getting involved and its taught them to appreciate what they get in life and how its good to help others in need. We managed to raise over £1800 last year this was our best year yet. Allowing us to provide toys and gifts to hundreds of children, hopefully we can do they same again this year or even beat it. We also understand how difficult times are for the majority of people and a lot of families are going to struggle themselves this Christmas however the smallest donation could make the biggest difference to somebody else’s Christmas this year as it could be towards the only present they receive. So if you feel you would like to help and are in a position to do so then please donate to this good cause it would mean so much to so many children and families. Let’s GIVE A CHILD A CHRISTAMS.
