Story

We are very lucky to have our own swimming pool at school, and proud to be able to offer all our pupils swimming lessons each year. In an area where most pools are costly to use, swimming lessons increasingly hard to come by, and where being near water is part of our everyday lives, we think it’s essential all children have the chance to learn to swim with confidence. Between our school and those that we share the pool with, over 700 children receive lessons between April and October each year!

However, our pool needs help! Much of it dates back 30+ years and many parts are beginning to fail. We have planned a programme of work that will safeguard it for the future, providing a better experience for children, and ensure they get to enjoy swimming here for many years to come.

In total our pool needs £44,500.00 to make it fit for the future!

We have some funding in place through the Healthy Pupil Capital Fund and have generous pledges from Windermere Taverners, the Town Council and others. Our wonderful PTA will fundraise and put in grant applications, but we will need to find an additional £26,000! This sounds a great deal but is equivalent to £40 per child who swims in the pool, and thousands of children will benefit over the years

Could you help us reach our goal? We know life with children is expensive and do not wish to place pressure on parents. We simply hope everyone could consider how they might be able to help either directly or by asking locally.
