Story
Over the summer, when the school was closed, we had a burst water tank which caused damage to 6 classrooms, 3 resource store rooms and the room we keep our reading books. School insurance sadly only covers the damage to the fabric of the building, such as ceilings, floors, doors, walls and painting. Insurance does not cover contents. We have lost £6500 worth of reading books, lots of play resources, stationery and teachers personal documents and resources. We believe all the damaged items come to approximately £15,000. With school budgets being under so much pressure, we cannot afford to replace all that has been lost. Our staff have worked so hard to ensure rooms are ready for the children to return for the start of the new term, the team spirit was heartwarming and shows how dedicated they are to our children. But it is vital that we at least replace the reading books, which are so important for us to teach and develop reading. Any funding we can gain, would help us greatly and would be so appreciated by our children and staff. Thank you in advance Claire Robinson Principal
