Claire's Story

My brave, incredible sister needs your help;

Early 2016 Claire's health rapidly deteriorated, she could not stand or sit up right; the longer she stood, the faster her heart raced, which led to fainting. This resulted in Claire unable to leave the house, unable to go up and down the stairs in her own home, and unable to do the daily tasks that we all take for granted.

Ehlers Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and Postural Tachycardia Syndrome (PoTS) are the cause. The only way Claire can leave the house is by a wheelchair, of which due to her illness she cannot even gain the strength to operate alone as the EDS she has caused a leaky heart valve.

Claire is a wife, and a mother; they had plans, adventures to take, ambitions to achieve. Currently, Claire can't even take her 4 year old daughter to the park at the end of the road.

So what are we raising funds for? Freedom.

To achieve this Claire needs a lightweight power assisted wheelchair which just simply isn’t available on the NHS. This will allow Claire the freedom to get out and do everyday tasks that you and I take for granted; pop to the shop unaccompanied, take her daughter to the park, do the school run. This will allow Claire the freedom to take back some of her life.
