I've raised £20000 to renew children's playground equipment and provide a great range for local children to enjoy safely.

The Friends of Bury Lodge Park are looking to raise over £20,000 to start refurbishing the children’s play area. Much of the equipment is worn out or damaged. We also want to bring in play equipment which will be more challenging and offer more variety to the children giving a more enjoyable visit both for the younger children which are not accommodated for but also for the children 8 years and over.
Unfortunately, due to budget restrictions the Council no longer gives any funding to Friends of the Park Groups. It is down to these very hard working, dedicated volunteers to find other ways of raising funds to pay for ongoing expenses, such as plants, fertilisers and equipment, without which the park would very soon revert to the overgrown and unusable state that it was in before the Friends of Bury Lodge group was formed in 2009.
Many community groups make good use of this park so I felt it would be good for everyone as a local community to come together to help raise money for this valued space and to show our appreciation for it and the volunteers who work so tirelessly to keep it safe and authentic and a beautiful area we can all be proud of.
