Ethan was diagnosed with a brain tumour at the age of 5 in 2008 after a deterioration of his eyesight. Ethan had an initial 18 months of highly toxic chemotherapy which initially shrank the tumour but further relapses consequented in a another two long term courses of chemotherapy. After 15 months in remission Ethan has unfortunately relapsed again. After exhausting chemotherapy options at Manchester Royal Children's hospital Ethan has been referred to Great Ormand Street hospital to go on a trial drug on compassionate grounds. The commute costs a considerable amount of money each time which is one reason for this fundraising. The other is to provide Ethan with much needed smiles as he embarks on the next step of this journey in the form of days out or a short break from it all. Ethan has also been registered severly sight impaired because of the damage from the tumour and has had to contend with so much. Ethan is a lovely boy with a great sense of humour who always thinks of others. Everyone who meets him are taken by his kind, loving nature and bravery and courage in the face of adversity. Our aim is to ease the burden and create some well deserved smiles for this special boy.
