Story

I work in a remarkable school for remarkable children and I feel my colleagues are arguably magicians to do what they do for the children on a restricted budget. I see mini miracles happening in this school every single day.

A number of our students struggle with effectively processing the sensory information from both the environment and their own bodies which often leads to difficulties with daily living skills, learning, socialising, self-regulation and emotional well-being. Can you picture how hard it is to navigate the world when the body you are in is giving you confusing signals? It can be a very bewildering place to be.

To support these students we are hoping to raise the funds to begin to create a Sensory Integration clinic. This space will allow the children to experience sensory activities that encourage the “rewiring” of the brain supporting individuals with Sensory Processing Disorder to begin to appropriately integrate and respond to sensory input. This allows for the child to make better sense of the world around them, increasing their confidence, reducing anxiety and elevating their sense of overall well-being.

We need to raise £2,450 to kit out a room. We have raised just over £900 from our last fundraising page and hope to meet the target this time.

Thanks in advance for your support.
