I've raised £300 to ‘give something back’ in memory of our Dad ♥️

Our Dad, Philip, sadly passed away in September 2017. He lived the last two years of his life at Resthaven - a local residential home in Exmouth. The staff there were exceptional in giving him, and all the other residents, exceptional care and compassion.
Philip was an accomplished competitive swimmer & in his teenage years and early twenties, he won many cups and medals representing Devon. He incredibly won the local Starcross to Exmouth swim a record six times, first at the age of 13, & he maintained the record of 6 firsts in the race for forty years.
His dedication to a sport he loved inspired us as children (Clive my brother & I) to swim competitively ourselves. Now in our fifties he has inspired us again in attempting the Starcross to Exmouth swim for us - the first time - in Dads memory. The swim covers 3 miles of open tidal water on the River Exe, we have been training for the swim for several months - from an exhausting attempt at 10 lengths to now swimming 100-150 lengths 2-3 times a week. Phew!
Funds raised will support Resthaven in in Dad's memory with something extra for the residents. For us, this is giving something back to say a huge ‘thank you’ for all their consistent care and kindness & will help with much needed equipment in the new garden area.
Thank you for reading & if you decide to contribute, no matter how small, we really appreciate your kind donation.
Clare and Clive xx
