    Story

Crest Farm Equine Connections (registered charity number 1191982) is a new charity offering an established and well evidenced horsemanship programme that helps children and adults with serious behavioural difficulties.

Sara de Vries is accredited facilitator of TheHorseCourse (THC) a Dorset based charity which has developed a successful equine assisted intervention. Based at her tranquil yard, Crest Farm in Yelsted, Kent Sara will be working with her highly trained horses Nike, William, Phoebe and Cracker to help people who are experiencing social exclusion due to a lack of emotional and thinking skills. People will be referred to CFEC when other more conventional talking theraphies aren't working for them.

Horses are amazing beings, everything is black and white to them and they live in the here and now: using horses to help people understand and balance their own emotions is extremely powerful. CFEC will be able to help people whose problems stem from a wide range of causes: mental health problems, autism and ADHD, addictions, behavioural problems, survivors of domestic abuse, PTSD. The results and lasting change people get from working with the horses is astonishing: young people who have been unable to attend school for many months due to their anxiety have been able to return to learning and manage their emotions in the school environment.

The charity is registered with the Charity Commission. To get CFEC officially launched in early 2021 we need to raise money to put a few things in place so Sara can start offering courses at Crest Farm.

Raising £2000 will mean we can fund our first courses, buy safety equipment participants need to work on the ground with the horses, ropes and halters for the horses and other costs involved with setting up a new charity.

Please make a donation to help Sara and the horses at Crest Farm Equine Connections start to help people who are experiencing real difficulties in their lives.
