My dear niece Ellie was killed by her ex boyfriend 5 years ago leaving a huge loss in our family.

It is a sad fact that every 3 days a female is killed in a domestic homocide in the uk.

Killed women is an organisation which helps families who have lost love ones through domestic violence providing a crucial support network and works to protect the lives of women by campaigning for much needed reforms to our judicial system.

For those of you that know me you will be aware that I love running but my average running distance is about 5 km, so to run 21 km for the the first time in my life comes with some personal challenge mid life.
