Story
My friend John has quadreplegic cerebal palsy and he relies on his electric wheelchair as well as 24/7 care for all aspects of his daily life. His chair has broken down and that model has been discontinued leaving him without a functioning chair. John is therefore housebound and is extreme discomfort. He works at Burton Albion academy alongside other voluntary work in the community. In April, John won the EFL club employee of the season award in his first year working within football. John is working towards his coaching badges which have been put on hold, in fact, his very existence has been put on hold. Being unable to attend work is not only seriously affecting John's posture and physical health but also his mental wellbeing. Please donate as much as you can to help my dear friend Clarkie buy a new chair and get his life back.
The total has risen following an assessment of John's needs and a suitable new chair is more expensive than first anticipated. The new chair will include a riser which will enable the seat to move up and down which will allow Clarkie to look people in the eye for the first time in his life.
