Weʼre raising £20,000 to To purchase a Class 317 EMU to form the basis of 210 003.
Don't have time to donate right now?
Story
After a couple of false starts we have now been offered the last Trailer Composite to use in 210 003. If you can spare anything we would to put towards this crowdfunder be very grateful, but if you'd like to become more involved you can follow us on Facebook, www.facebook.com/brcwco /brcwco or Twitter, www.twitter.com/brcwco.or several years we've been working towards this moment. We have the original Paxman 6RP200L engine from 210 002, we have an agreement to take on the Trailer Second coach also from 210 002 and now we reach the pinacle.
After a couple of years negotiation one of the last Class 317 EMU's has been offered to us to provide the Trailer Composite coach, that makes the new unit an Outer Suburban model, and the 2 Driving Trailers, one of which will be reworked to take the engine and control gear.
Time is short to secure this unit. Fundraising has started well with over a quarter of the money needed already promised, but we need to secure the rest to make it happen. We know times are tough for so many so any donation you can make towards this project would be most gratefully received.
You can find out more about the project here
Unfortunately we've been unsuccessful securing a full unit and now all attention will focus on securing the Trailer Composite we need to create the full 4 car outer suburban unit.

If an original class 317 can't be preserved like 315856 then we might as well replicate a class 210 out of a class 317

About the fundraiser

Simon Altham
The Birmingham Railway Carriage & Wagon Company was restarted in 2014 to build replicas of long lost prototype diesel locos and other rolling stock. Project 210 is the first to reach the official launch stage. We have the unique Paxman 6RP200L from 210 002, this is next.
