Story

“Children who eat breakfast before school 'twice as likely to perform well in tests”

We are offering a school breakfast program which provides subsidized breakfast to children at schools in the Wolverhampton borough. The program shall begin as a 2 year pilot within the borough of Wolverhampton firstly, and then branch out to support all schools within West Midlands.

The program supports children who are not allocated free school meals, travel a long distance, working parents who need to be at work early, and parents who are unable to pay for additional breakfast. As we are aware of the current changes within the political system and cutbacks in preparation for BREXIT, a lot of lower-income families will suffer from this.

The campaign will start distribution around January 2019. At this stage, all the administration is completed in respect to parents receiving a dietary recommendation, a system to monitor participants. This is mandatory.

We are making it available to schools in Wolverhampton to start off, who needed to improve the nutrition and dietary needs of children in low-income families and with working parents, however, we will need to direct this to all children, and not make it a welfare issue, which may lead to embarrassment.

ABC Ltd has a variety of supermarkets who are willing to offer food, such as Morrisons, Sainsbury's, Tescos, Farmfoods through the distribution outlet Fareshare Ltd, who are on-board and have agreed and accepted to participate alongside Abrianna Breakfast Club Ltd this will allowed for donations of surplus food from all local supermarkets. We are also feeding the homeless in the evenings, with surplus stock.
