Help Afonso become more independent and have a better quality of life.

This is Afonso Couto. He needs support to stay in Brazilia, Brazil, where he can have specialised free hospital treatment for his disability. He needs financial support to have a place where he can stay and also support to pay someone who can help him with his visits to the hospital.

Because of Covid-19 everything is now much more difficult. Hopefully Afonso can start to receive specialised hospital treatments in June.

I know Afonso for over 40 years. Life is very difficult for him but his spirit is always joyful, positive and he himself is always helping others with a kind word, a listening ear, presence and friendship.

With the treatments that he will receive regularly in a hospital in Brazilia, he might be able to go back to walk using crutches instead of wheelchair, which will give him so much more independence.

£3000 is equivalent to RS 15.000 Brazilian Reais at the moment. Rent and support worker will cost RS 2.400 Reais per Month which is just over £400 per Month.

If we manage to raise £3000 together, we will help Afonso for 7 months. To complete a year of support, other 4 friends in Brazil will be helping too so it is all possible!!
